PM35264: SERVERIOTIMEOUT SET TO A NON ZERO VALUE CAUSES THE ESIINVALIDATOR TO TIMEOUT IN THE PLUG-IN.

Error description

The Plug-in issues a POST /_DynaCacheEsi/esiInvalidator to
communicate with the Cache Monitor.  This requests is expected
to run coninuously and not timeout.  However, the
serverIOTimeout setting is affecting this request.  If the
serverIOTimeout value is not zero then this request can timeout.
This should not occur.

Connection may be broken between CacheMonitor and the
web server plugin and will not be reestablished until the
plugin is restarted.

Problem conclusion

The connection between the CacheMonitor and the plugin was
honoring the serverIOTimeout value so if there was no activity
for a time period exceeding the plugin serverIOTimeout value,
the connection would be broken and no attempt to reestablish
the connection would be made. Since it is expected to have
long periods of inactivity, this connection will not time out
after the serverIOTimeout period with this corrected code.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.39 and 7.0.0.19.  Please refer to the
