Error description

  • This problem is only seen when the application server is being
    administered from an Admin Agent. This is when the problem is
    seen:
    1. From the Administrative Console go to the Scheduler panel
    - Application servers > servername
    > EJB timer service settings > Schedulers
    2. Selects a scheduler and click Verify Tables.
    3. The top of the console shows the error
    "Unable to locate the SchedulerConfiguration MBean for this
    server. This error most likely occurred because the server
    is not running."
    4. There are no errors in the logs for the Admin Agent or the
    application server.
    5. If this trace string is set for the Admin Agent:
    com.ibm.ws.scheduler.*=all:
    com.ibm.websphere.scheduler.*=all
    then the trace.log shows this error:
    It shows:
    PMECommonMBea 3   Did not found
    WebSphere:type=WASSchedulerCfgHelper,node=Node-A,
    process=adminagent,*
    PMECommonMBea <  initializeMBean() Exit
    <null>
    SchedulerConf 3
    Unable to find the WASSchedulerCfgHelper MBean
    6. It is looking for the Mbean on the wrong node. It is
    looking in the app server node (Node-A) instead of the
    Admin Agent node (Adminagent).

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Error "MBean cannot be found" when *
    * issueing scheduler MBean call in an *
    *                      admin agent environment.                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The console was using the current running server to issue the
    MBean calls, and the MBean was not running in the admin agent
    subsystem. The MBean in the server should be the one that is
    called.

Problem conclusion

  • If the console is being used in an admin agent environment, we
    must get the node/server from the context rather than use the
    current server to issue the mbean calls.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.21 and 8.0.0.1. Please refer to the Recommended
