  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • WCT/zPMT incorrectly restricts the customers from entering the
value of the system name. When the value starting with a numeric
char is entered, zPMT blocks it with an error message. In fact,
the numeric chars are valid for system name as listed in the MVS
    Initialization and Tuning Reference
    May see the following error:
osgi> The following validation errors were present with the
    command line arguments:
zSystemName: zSystemName contains one or more characters that
    are not valid.

Local fix

  • In the "DATA" PDS member of the zPMT customization jobs, there
will be a member with the name of BBOWRESx (where x is P for app
server, D for management or M for managed node). The value of
z.system.name can be changed to the actual system name. (For
management, the value of z.deamon.instance.name also needs to be
    changed.)
One approach would be to assign a system name of, say ZZZZZZZZ,
and then replace all occurrences of ZZZZZZZZ in the respective
    file.
