Error description

  • A query like the following can be generated in some situation:
    private static String findEmpCaseInsensitiveQuery_0 = " select
     q1.\"ID\",  q1.\"NAME\",  q1.\"DEPT_ID\" from AMTEAM.EMP q1
    where ( upper ( q1.\"NAME\") LIKE concat ( upper (CAST(? AS
    VARCHAR(32672))), \'%\')) ";

    The CAST VARCHAR(32672) will return a LONG VARCHAR type which
    is incompatible with LIKE. It should be maximum VARCHAR(3999).

Problem conclusion

  • EJB 2.1 for CONCAT now generates VARCHAR(CONCAT(..), 4000)
    instead to avoid an SQLException on DB2 LUW.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.15. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
