Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    * Server V7.0 who attempt to load a class *
    *                  named _Stub.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A StringIndexOutOfBoundsException may   *
    * occur when attempting to load a class *
    *                      named _Stub.                            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When an attempt is made to load a class named _Stub, and the
    class cannot be found, the application server will check to
    see if an RMI stub class is required and if required, will
    generate the RMI stub class dynamically. However, the
    application server is expecting the class name to end with
    _Stub, and fails attempting to access characters prior to _Stub.

Problem conclusion

  • Since _Stub is not a valid RMI stub class name, the
    application server has been updated to not attempt to generate
    an RMI stub class in this scenario.
