Error description

  • A browser may use a ?WSDL url to access the WSDL of a Web
service. The schema files associated with the Web service are
accessed via the WSDL files. In some cases, the schema files
may be truncated. The truncated schema files prevent a
customer from interacting with the Web services.

This problem may occur if the following are all true:
      * The Web service is a JAX-WS Web service hosted on a
    WebSphere Application Server.
      * The JAX-WS Web service does not have a WSDL. In such
cases, the JAX-WS engine constructs the WSDL by examining the
    classes of the Web service.

A browser may use a ?XSD url to access the schema files of a Web
service. In some cases, the schema files may be truncated.
The truncated schema files prevent a customer from interacting
    with the Web service.

This problem may occur if the following are all true:
    * The Web service is a JAX-WS Web service hosted on a

    * The JAX-WS Web service does not have a WSDL. In such
cases, the JAX-WS engine constructs the WSDL by examining the
    classes of the Web service.

Problem conclusion

  • If a JAX-WS Web service does not have a WSDL file, the JAX-WS
runtime is required to make the WSDL and schema files by
inspecting the classes of the Web service. Due to a flaw, the
streams associated with the schema files are closed prior to
reading the entire schema. The runtime code is changed to
fully read the stream prior to closing the stream.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.15. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
