Error description

This is a problem that occurs when using the WebSphere
Application Server script, createEJBStubs, to update an ear so
that it will contain the EJB stub and the ear file already
contains a war or jar file. .
createEJBStubs test.ejbEAR.EAR -newfile -updatefile
....

Jar or war file had no non-stub classes
CNTR9277I: The test.web.war Java archive (JAR) or WebSphere
archive (WAR) file does not contain remote interface classes
for a level 3.0 enterprise bean.

CNTR9258E: An unexpected exception was caught.  The exception
is: java.lang.NullPointerException

   at com.ibm.ws.deploy.tools.CreateEJBStubsCommand.

Local fix

Temporarily remove the war or jar file from the ear, run the
command to generate the EJB stubs and then put the war or jar
back into the ear.

A NullPointerException is thrown while attempting to use a data
structure that is initialized for EJB JAR files only.

Problem conclusion

The data structure is now also initialized for WAR files.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
