Error description

  • IBMJSSE2 Provider is always selected even when other JSSE
    provider is on security.provider.* attribute in java.security
    file.
    As a result, the following error may be observed on
    JRE environment other than IBM Java:

    [08/31/2010 10:04:09:724 EDT 0000000a
    com.ibm.ws.ssl.config.WSKeyStore  Error: CWPKI0033E: The
    keystore located at "somelocation/configfile" failed to load due
    to the following error: no such provider: IBMJSSE2

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IBMJSSE2 Provider is always selected *
    * even when other JSSE provider is *
    * listed in the provider list. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    There are two code defects which contribute to this problem:
    a) getInstance() method in com.ibm.ws.ssl.JSSEProviderFactory
    class always selects IBMJSSE2 after examining the first
    provider name in the list.
    b) asKeyStore() method in
    com.ibm.ws.ssl.core.WSPKCSInKeyStore.clsss, sets a context
    provider name which
    com.ibm.ws.ssl.JSSEProviderFactory.getInstance is not aware
    of. As a result, getInstance method selects a predefined JSSE
    provider which is IBMJSSE2.
