Error description

  • In the cell creation on zPMT, the users entered the same value
for the NodeName for the DMgr and appServer which was incorrect
because their values should not be the same. However, zPMT did
not block or provide warning, and it continued to proceed which
led to the failure later eventually when the profile creation
process for the cell via BBOWWPFC failed with:
    .
WASX7017E: Exception received while running file
    "/shared_was/dt/dt/DeploymentManager/profileTemplates/cell/dmgr/
    actions/scripts/sibdefinechains.jacl"; exception information:
    com.ibm.ws.scripting.ScriptingException: WASX7444E: Invalid
parameter value "" for parameter "parent config id" on command
    "create"

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The Profile Management Tool for z/OS, which is contained
within WebSphere Customization Tools Version 7.0, does not
defect when the user specifies the same value for the
deployment manager and application server node long names (or
node short names) when creating a cell definition.

Problem conclusion

  • The Profile Management Tool for z/OS that is contained within
WebSphere Customization Tools service level 7.0.0.15 will
issue an error message and not allow the cell definition to
proceed when creating a WebSphere Application Server Version
7.0 definition in which the same value is specified for the
deployment manager and application server node short names (or
    node long names).
