APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • WOLA initialization could experience a program check if a prior
    initialization failed. Once connected to the existing shared
    memory object, it walks the RGE chain. Problem arises because it
     will walk the chain regardless of whether it is empty or not.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    WOLA initialization following a server restart might abend with
    0C4 when examining prior registration control blocks. This is
    because the chain is empty and the shared memory object for WOLA
    indicates the chain is empty.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been modified to skip looping through registration
    chain when it is empty.

    APAR PM17012 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
    Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.12 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
