Problem conclusion
There was an error in the JAX-WS runtime which was causing the content-type to be overwritten with "text/xml" in some cases when dynamic caching service was enabled. The runtime has been corrected to prevent it from incorrectly overwriting the content-type. This problem is fixed in WebSphere Application Server V6.1 Feature Pack for Web Services by APAR PM08294. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.13.
