Error description
Customer needs to modify plugin parameters via administrative console Customer wants to modify PostSizeLimit parameter for a specific application server via the administrative console. Servers -> Web Servers -> "Server Name" -> Plugin Properties -> Request Routing -> Maximum size of request content When customer configures a value in "Maximum size of request content" and regenerates plugin, these value is applied to all clusters. Customer wants this change to only affect a particular cluster. This was allowed with verison 5.0 but has been removed with follow on releases.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V6.1 and V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: PostSizeLimit Plugin property * * requires a manual change if different * * values are required between 2 or more * * clusters * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** PostSizeLimit is set through web server section of the administrative console. Therefore, every cluster associated to the same web server will the same value. To affect a different value to only one of the clusters requires a manual change.
Problem conclusion
An overridePluginPostSizeLimit property has been created to override the value set within the web server > plugin properties area. This property is set within the Administrative Console Servers > Server Types > WebSphere Application Servers > [servername] > Web Container > custom properties. The [servername] can be for any member of the cluster. Add the overridePluginPostSizeLimit name and give it a value. Other overridePlugin properties were added at the same time to provide additional control to Cluster properties that are traditionally set globally. Each can be set the same way as noted above. overridePluginPostBufferSize overridePluginLoadBalance overridePluginPostSizeLimit overridePluginRemoveSpecialHeaders overridePluginRetryInterval overridePluginGetDWLMTable overridePluginIgnoreAffinityRequest overridePluginCloneSeparatorChange This can also be set using wsadmin. The following are the commands to accomplish this. Open a command prompt and changed directories to my Dmgr/bin directory (c:\program files\websphere x\AppServer\profiles\Dmgr\bin) Start wsadmin using that dmgr's soap port (wsadmin -conntype SOAP [-port abcd] -lang jacl) wsadmin> set server_id [$AdminConfig getid /Node:NodeXYZ/Server:server1] wsadmin> set webcontainer [$AdminConfig list WebContainer $server_id] wsadmin> $AdminConfig create Property $webcontainer {{name new_name} {value new_value}} properties wsadmin> $AdminConfig save To display the web container values, use the following command: wsadmin> $AdminConfig show $webcontainer The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 6.1.0.35 & 7.0.0.13.
