Error description

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) container is not passing
the ACK to the application.

The following exception can be seen in the logs.

[SipContainerPool : 1] ERROR

SipServiceUtility  - Caught exception trying to tear down dialog
java.lang.IllegalStateException: ACK can only be generated once
per response
at
com.ibm.ws.sip.container.servlets.IncomingSipServletResponse
createAck(IncomingSipServletResponse.java:262)

*                      message from the network, but does      *
*                      not pass it up to the application.      *

The problem occurs in a call flow that includes INVITE dialog
creation, followed by an unsuccessful INVITE within that
dialog, followed by successful INVITE. For example:

The ACK message, that is sent to the application server, is
not passed up to the application.

Problem conclusion

The problem is now fixed in the SIP container code.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.33 and 7.0.0.13.  Please refer to the
