Error description

Customer has WebSphere Application Server set to use LDAP
authentication. User accounts are in the format
domain\username. Everything works fine, users are able to
login into TSMR (Maximo) running on the WebSphere Application
Server. Unfortunately when the user has name, which begins
with a hex character (a-f) and the second one not with hex
character, users are not able to login and an error occurs in
SystemOut.log.

WebSphere Application Server is set to use LDAP
authentication. User accounts are in format domain\username.
When the user has a name which begins with a hex character
(a-f) and second one is not a hex character, users are not
able to login and an error occurs in SystemOut.log.

Problem conclusion

Code has been corrected to properly handle these types of user
names.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.33 and 7.0.0.13.  Please refer to the
