Local fix

  • If the server is receiving IIOP requests from a WebSphere for
    z/OS 6.0.2 server, ensure APAR PK84457 is applied on the 6.0.2
    server.

    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WebSphere Application Server for z/OS *
    *                      terminates with ABENDDC3/ABENDSDC3,     *
    *                      reason code 000C0006.                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A misbehaving or defective CORBA client could send two
    concurrent IIOP requests with duplicate request IDs. This is a
    violation of the CORBA specification. If a client sends
    multiple requests on the same connection with the same request
    ID, it can lead to the controller region terminating with
    ABENDDC3/ABENDSDC3, reason code 000C0006.

    PK84457 fixes a potential cause of duplicate request IDs in
    WebSphere Application Server V6.0.1.

Problem conclusion

  • WebSphere Application Server for z/OS will now check for
    duplicate request IDs on a connection. If an incoming request
    specifies the same ID as an already active request, the new
    request will receive an error response with minor code
    C9C26A4C and the connection will be aborted.

    APAR PM10283 requires changes to documentation.

    NOTE: Periodically, we refresh the documentation on our
    Web site, so the changes might have been made before you
    read this text. To access the latest on-line
    documentation, go to the product library page at:

    http://www.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/library

    Changes to the WebSphere Application Server Version 6.1
    Information Center will be made available in
    September, 2010.

    The topic "Error minor codes" will be updated to include
    the following description of the C9C26A4C error minor
    code:

    C9C26A4C

    Explanation:
    The server received a GIOP request with a request ID that
    is already in use by an active request on this connection.
    This means the IIOP client is sending multiple concurrent
    requests with the same request ID, which is a violation
    of the CORBA specification. The duplicate request fails
    with this exception. The server aborts the connection.

    User response:
    Look for errors in the IIOP client that is sending
    duplicate request IDs.

    APAR PM10283 is currently targeted for inclusion in
    Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.35 of WebSphere
    Application Server V6.1
