Error description

  • In a JAX-WS SOAPHandler<SOAPMessageContext> handler the
canonicalized soap message changes after the first request and
is not canonically the same as the wire message.

The first message is canonically the same as the wire message.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The SOAP message received by a JAX-WS SOAPHandler is not
exactly the same as the inbound SOAP message.

For example, the message received by the JAX-WS SOAPHandler
may use different xml prefixes than the original inbound
message. These subtle changes do not affect the logical
    interpretation of the message.

However some customers require that the message at the
SOAPHandler boundary to be exactly the same as the incoming
message. For example, the Canonicalization Specification
(C14N) requires that the prefix names are preserved.

A property will be added to the Web Service runtime to allow
    customers to request this behavior.

Problem conclusion

  • The Web Service runtime transforms the incoming message into
the multiple data forms needed by the Web Service client or
endpoint. Some of these transformations do not preserve the
    xml prefix names.

A new JVM property is added to allow customers to enable
    lossless transformations.
The JVM property name is "jaxws.payload.highFidelity"
The value is "true" or "false".
    The default value is "false".
When the property is set to true, the Web Service runtime will
guarantee that the incoming message and the message at the
    SOAPHandler boundary are the same.

Customers should only use this property if they access the
contents of a soapenv:Body element within their SOAPHandlers.
Setting the property to "true" may degrade performance of the
    web service runtime.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.9. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
