Error description

  • It is not possible to use an EJB 3.0 message-driven bean (MDB)
    with a listener port.
    This prevents the use of WebSphere MQ as a messaging provider
    with an EJB 3.0 MDB with Websphere Application Server V6.1
    Feature Pack for EJB 3.0.
    This is because activation specifications cannot be used with
    the WebSphere MQ messaging provider in WebSphere Application
    Server V6.1.

    An error similar to the following is seen if an EJB 3.0 MDB is
    used with a listener port
    CNTR0035E: EJB container caught com.ibm.ejs.container.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: EJB 3.0 message-driven beans cannot     *
    * be used with listener ports *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If an EJB 3.0 message-driven bean (MDB) is deployed against a
    listener port, the listener port fails to start and the MDB
    does not receive any messages.

    This prevents use of EJB 3.0 MDB applications with the
    WebSphere MQ messaging provider in WebSphere Application
    Server Version 6.1 Feature Pack for EJB 3.0.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix for this APAR allows EJB 3.0 message-driven beans to
    be used with listener ports.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 6.1.0.25 and 7.0.0.5. Please refer to the
