Error description
Websphere Application Server, V6.1.0.23 fix pack Plugin is incorrectly setting the WSFO header. This leads to cache discards of session data and cacheId increments. There is an incorrect handling for the case where Partition Tables are used.
Local fix
Back out of Plugin fix 6.1.0.23 to any previous plugin fixpacks. This was introduced with fp 23.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server & Web Server Plug-in at V6.1.0.23 or * * V7.0.0.3 using Memory to Memory Replication * * method for Session Affinity. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Plug-in always appends the HTTP header * * $WSFO to requests. This forces session * * to continuously refresh the Cache and * * increment the response cache-ID. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Web server Plug-in did not check for the special session affinity failure condition when Session Configuration uses the Memory-to-memory Replication method. Plug-in always appended $WSFO.
Problem conclusion
The plug-in has been corrected. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 6.1.0.25, 7.0.0.4 and 7.0.0.5. Please refer to the Recommended Updatespage for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
