APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Websphere Application Server, V6.1.0.23 fix pack Plugin is
    incorrectly setting the WSFO header. This leads to cache
    discards of session data and cacheId increments.
    
    There is an incorrect handling for the case where Partition
    Tables are used.
    

Local fix

  • Back out of Plugin fix 6.1.0.23 to any previous plugin fixpacks.
    This was introduced with fp 23.

    * USERS AFFECTED:  All users of IBM WebSphere Application      *
    *                  Server & Web Server Plug-in at V6.1.0.23 or *
    *                  V7.0.0.3 using Memory to Memory Replication *
    *                  method for Session Affinity.                *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Plug-in always appends the HTTP header  *
    *                      $WSFO to requests. This forces session  *
    *                      to continuously refresh the Cache and   *
    *                      increment the response cache-ID.        *
    ****************************************************************

    Web server Plug-in did not check for the special session
    affinity failure condition when Session Configuration uses the
    Memory-to-memory Replication method. Plug-in always appended
    $WSFO.
