Error description

  • Server fails to start when Coregroup "Transport Memory size" is
    set more than 256 MB

    The following exception is thrown when the Transport Memory size
    is set to 300

    The only restriction should be the Jav heap size. Java Heap size
    should be always more than the "Transport Memory Size" in
    other word the "Transport memory size can be set upto the JVM
    Max heap size.

Local fix

  • Set the value less than 256 MB

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    *                  Server                                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Coregroup Transport Memory Size *
    *                      property cannot exceed 256 MB.          *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The Transport Memory Size property is used to set both the
    transport memory size for the corestack as well as the data
    stack. The data stack memory size has a hard limit of 256 MB
    which you may want to exceed.

Problem conclusion

  • The 256 MB restriction for the Data Stack Memory Size has been
    removed.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.39, 8.0.0.12, and 8.5.5.7 Please refer to the
