Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server Version 7.0.0.33 and 7.0.0.35. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Under certain conditions an attempt to * * execute an administrative command * * fails with exit code 23. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When starting an administrative command that accesses an OSGi install area, the underlying OSGi instance may acquire an invalid path to its install area and unexpectedly exit with return code rc=23. The problem can occur only when the command is configured to use the OSGi bundle cache, and the bundle cache (the configuration area) is empty or newly initialized. When these conditions are true, the problem may occur when the application server installation uses symlinks, or the command is invoked with an install area path that differs in case from the first time the command was invoked. This problem was introduced by APAR PI06467 in 7.0.0.33 and has been detected by users of IBM Commerce.
Problem conclusion
Apply APAR PI25716 to alleviate the OSGi problem introduced by PI06467. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.37. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
