    * reported as "partially started" *

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    After servers are restarted, some applications that run on
    more than one server may have a status in the console of
    "partial start", although the server logs will indicate that
    the applications are started on all servers.

Problem conclusion

  • Notification events, specifically status cache events, being
    sent from servers very close together in time could lead to a
    race condition in the node agent. The race condition could
    allow server status reports to be processed out of sequence
    intermittently, resulting in the last application state
    processed being "starting" instead of "started". This
    caused the console to incorrectly indicate "partial start"
    status for the application. The code has been updated so the
    condition no longer occurs.

    APAR PI20805 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs
