Error description

  • On upgrading WebSphere Virtual Enterprise v7 middleware agent
    on a linux ppc64 system using update installer, the ppc32-bit
    libraries are installed.

Problem summary

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Update Installer installed 32bit v7     *
    *                      native libraries on a Linux PPC-64      *
    *                      system when 64bit was originally        *
    *                      installed.                              *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Update Installer installed 32bit WebSphere Virtual Enterprise
    v7 native libraries on a Linux PPC-64 system when 64bit
    WebSphere Virtual Enterprise was originally installed. After
    applying the WebSphere Virtual Enterprise v7 fix pack with the
    WebSphere Virtual Enterprise native library with incorrect bit
    mode, the WebSphere Application Server will not be able to be
    started.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Update Installer has been updated to upgrade WebSphere Virtual
    Enterprise native libraries in the correct bit mode on Linux
    PPC-64 system.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.33.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
    page for delivery information:
