Error description

  • When using MQ in WebSphere Application Server v9 it could be
    possible that you are getting the following kind of exception at
    runtime, when mesasges will be picked up from a queue:
    
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/ibm/mq/MQXAQueueManager
    
    
    Example:

    JAVA.LANG.NOCLASSDEFFOUNDERROR:
    COM/IBM/MQ/MQXAQUEUEMANAGER MAY OCCUR
    WHEN USING MQ QUEUES IN WEBSPHERE
    APPLICATION SERVER. This is due to the clarification of the
    API provided by MQ as utilised by Websphere Application Server
    in 9.x.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The fix corrects the class name of the API used by
    Websphere Application Server, thus avoiding the
    NoClassDefFoundError.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 9.0.5.1.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
