Error description

  • NT services are not showing up in service table. Services will
    show up under Windows Services list, but does not show up in the
    services table of the MIB Explorer.

Problem summary

    * Users of the SSM 4.0 who use the NTSCM sub-agent.            *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * Some services were not populating with any data other than   *
    * the service name itself. So the display name and other       *
    * entries in ntservices table would be empty. This was because *
    * the information in the service entry was larger than the     *
    * sub-agent allowed for and our query was failing.             *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * Apply Fix Pack 12.                                           *
    ****************************************************************
    

Problem conclusion

  • Change the sub-agent so it can get the size required to make a
    successful query.
