APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
On ppc64 Linux, "netstat -n | grep EST" shows more connections than the SSM does in tcpConnTable. The SSM seems to be missing the connections to/from IPv6 addresses that are mapped from IPv4 addresses. netstat shows such addresses as ::ffff:1.2.3.4:5678 so the SSM should be reporting "1.2.3.4:5678"

Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Users of MIB2 on linux-ppc64 **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Agent can not list all established TCP connection on Linux-ppc. **************************************************************** RECOMMENDATION: Upgrade to Fix Pack 9 for SSM 4.0. ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
/proc/net/tcp6 was being parsed partially under the assumption of little-endian byte ordering. While that works on x86, it produces incorrect results on ppc64 (big-endian). The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance packages: | fix pack | 4.0.0-TIV-SSM-FP0009
