APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In SSM 4.0, the patch MIB is empty showing no products or
  patches installed. This has been verified with Fix Pack 7 and 8.
  

Local fix

• Create a text file called "miapatches.hive" in
  Windows\System32, containing one line:
  
    IBM Tivoli
  Netcool/SSM=C:\path\to\ssm\installation\.manifest.hive
  or /etc/miapatches.hive on Unix/Linux:
    IBM Tivoli
  Netcool/SSM=/path/to/ssm/installation/.manifest.hive

Problem conclusion

• Now even if no "miapatches.hive" exists, the patch subagent
  will read it's own .manifest.hive locally. This guarantees that
  at the very least, the local agent's patches will always be
  listed in the patch MIB.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  packages:
