APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The SSM is not technically hung, but is clearly running so slow
  that it appears to be hung. If left for more than about 10
  minutes in this state the SSM's would eventually have logged a
  message "HrPartitionTable update took a very long time..." and
  disabled the offending code, thus enabling a workaround
  autonomously. However there may be more unseen factors on these
  machines which would make the time out much longer than 10
  minutes.
  

Local fix

• Set HostresProbeDisks=off in init.cfg. It will disable the
  partition and diskstorage tables in hostres but will not impair
  overall storage monitoring (hrStorageTable will still work).

Problem conclusion

• Improved the caching logic of HrPartitionTable for Solaris only.
  The change means that the table will never refresh more
  frequently than once per minute (less often if not queried).
  Also, the change means that warnings will be logged and the
  table automatically disabled if querying the attached hardware
  takes >5 seconds.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  packages:
