APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• We currently have a long-running issue which we cannot make
  progress on because there is a lack of information in the logs.
  ntext needs dramatically more verbose/debug logging options in
  the areas of importing trap destinations and sending traps.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  Users of ntext (MS SNMP integration) in SSM 4.0 on Windows
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  The debug information available from the ntext subagent was
  insufficient to determine if the subagent was even attempting or
  able to send traps on behalf of NT extension agents.
  ****************************************************************
  RECOMMENDATION:
  Upgrade to Fix Pack 8 for SSM 4.0.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• Added numerous more debug log messages to the ntext subagent,
  particularly in trap destination registration and trap sending.
  To view the messages you must use debug logging (LogLevel=debug
  in init.cfg).
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  packages:
