APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In some circumstances sysName can be blank whereas the expected
  behaviour is that it should either contain the hostname for the
  device, or the value specified as the DefaultAddress inivar.
  

Local fix

• Manually set .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0 s "hostname"  replacing
  hostname with the required value.
  

Problem summary

• This will occur when the system either fails to do a nslookup of
  a localhost name or a nslookup <local IP address> returns a
  blank string.
  

Problem conclusion

• In the case where DNS returns a blank string, the name will be
  set to whatever was entered in the first place. And in the case
  where looking up the system hostname fails, the SSM will no
  longer blank out the agentName but keep it unmodified.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
