  • Large numbers of virtual interfaces cause the agent to crash.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When the number of available interfaces, including virtual ones,
    exceeded 512 a buffer overflow occurred and this causes the
    agent to crash.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The agent now dynamically allocates enough space to handle the
    required number of interfaces.
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following
    maintenance package:
