APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Queries against the v$lock tables can take a long time to
return. One customer has observed the SQL statement that the
Oracle ASM submits to have taken over 8 minutes to return.

Local fix

  • There is no current fix. What can be done is to disable
monitoring on those specific tables by disabling the relevant
Control Table, (see the section on "Controlling Queries" in
the Oracle Application Monitor of the SSM Reference Guide).

Problem summary

  • Added the oraLockQueryHint scalar to the oraQueryControl group,
allowing an optimizer hint to be added to the query.

Problem conclusion

  • Fix will be available in 4.0.0-TIV-SSM-IF0003
