• Slow performance is experienced when adding an extension to an

  Three problem areas were addressed :
  1) Iterating multiple times over an application and performing
  an archive extract to disk each time. Archive Extract was
  moved outside of the iterations to reduce disk i/o.
  2) Lack of caching in areas of admin code which are called
  multiple times. Caching has now been added.
  3) Repeated search inside the same bundles. Search results
  have now been cached to reduce cpu hit and disk i/o.
  

Problem conclusion

• The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.5.1  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
