WebSphere® Application Server Version 5.1 Fix Pack 1, also known as Version 5.1.1.

Download Description

5.1.1: Fix Pack 1 for WebSphere Application Server Version 5.1 Base and Network Deployment.

Fix Pack 5.1.1 provides fixes and new features for WebSphere Application Server 5.1. It can be installed on top of WebSphere Application Server Version 5.1, 5.1.0.1, 5.1.0.3, or 5.1.0.4. WebSphere Application Server 5.1.0.2 was only shipped with selected WebSphere products, and is not available for download. Installation Highlights
Preparing for installation on Microsoft® Windows® platforms:

Retrieve the ZIP file into an /update directory with sufficient space
Use WinZip compatible utility to extract the installation files

Preparing for installation on Unix® platforms:

Retrieve the tar.gz file into an /update directory with sufficient space
Use the following commands to uncompress and extract the file contents:
gunzip file.tar.gz
tar -xvf file.tar

Using the UpdateInstaller to apply a fix pack:

Use the "Install Fix Pack" option to install your fix pack.
Installing a fix pack uninstalls all cumulative fixes and interim fixes previously installed.
For silent install, use the "-fixpack" option on the command line or "fixpack=true" in a response file.

Attention

WebSphere Application Server 5.1.1 is supported with WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation 5.1.1 or later. See Recommended Updates for "WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation" for details: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=1079&uid=swg27005435
WebSphere Application Server cumulative fix 5.1.0.5 must be uninstalled before installing WebSphere Application Server 5.1.1
The following fixes are included in 5.1.0.5, but NOT included in 5.1.1:
PQ86894, PQ87654, PQ88556, PQ88924, PQ90079
