Cause

If BOOTSTRAP_ADDRESS is not specify in the setupClient.sh|bat file, during the execution of the launchClient.sh|bat command, the NMSV0602E warning message will be generated when trying to connect to a remote server or local server.

Resolving the problem

There are two solutions to work around this problem:

A. Edit SERVERPORTNUMBER in the setupClient.sh|bat file.

The setupClient file is under the <WAS_INSTALL_ROOT_CLIENT>/bin/ directory and specify the SERVERPORTNUMBER. The SERVERPORTNUMBER is the BootStrap port address of the remote server you are trying to connect. It can be found under the

( Administrative Console Application servers > RetireServer_1 ->Ports --> BOOTSTRAP_ADDRESS )

Example: The BOOTSTRAP_ADDRESS belows is 2822

See example: ( setupClient.sh/bat)
# -----------------------------------
# Install settings follow
# -----------------------------------

# CLIENT_TYPE deprecated starting in Version 6.1
# CLIENT_TYPE=J2EETHIN
# export CLIENT_TYPE

COMPUTERNAME=
export COMPUTERNAME

DEFAULTSERVERNAME=machine1.ibm.com
export DEFAULTSERVERNAME

SERVERPORTNUMBER=2822
export SERVERPORTNUMBER

B. Specify -CCBootstrapPor while executing the launchClient.sh/bat command.

Specify the -CCBootstrapPort parameter when invoking the launchClient command. To determine the remote or local servers bootstrap address you can use the Administrative Console. Connect to the IBM WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console and traverse to the Application Servers > server_name -> Ports panel and there you will find the port.

UNIX Example using BootstrapPort of a remote server equal to 2822

./launchClient.sh -CCBootstrapPort=2822

Note: Depending on your application to the remote connection, additional parameters may be required to execute launchClient.sh command.
