IBM MQ - SupportPac Information

Product Documentation

Abstract

The IBM MQ SupportPac library consists of material that complements the family of IBM MQ products marketed by IBM. Each SupportPac supplies a particular function or service that can be used with one or more of the IBM MQ products.

While SupportPacs address many different subjects, they are grouped into the following categories.

NOTE: Each SupportPac is released by IBM for use with a specified version of IBM MQ. IBM offers no warranty or assurance that any released SupportPac will function properly with subsequent releases of IBM MQ, or will be updated to function with any such subsequent release.

Source code is not made publicy available for SupportPacs.

Content

Category 1 - Fee-based services SupportPacs

SupportPacs in this category provide material to be used by IBM® Systems Specialists as the basis for fee-earning service contracts with customers (for example, application migration, systems management and performance tuning engagements). Even though these SupportPacs are listed in the library, the content of these SupportPacs is available only to IBM personnel. Customers interested in obtaining Services based on any such material should contact their IBM representative to negotiate delivery.

Category 2 - "AS-IS" SupportPacs
Each SupportPac in this category is available at no charge to all licensed users of the IBM MQ family products on the platforms specified in the SupportPac description. These SupportPacs are provided "AS-IS" (under the IBM International License Agreement for Non-Warranted Programs and the associated License Information and other documentation). The terms and conditions of this license DO NOT provide for any entitlement to defect correction.

Category 3 - Product Extension SupportPacs
SupportPacs in this category are available at no charge to all licensed users of the IBM MQ on the platforms specified in the SupportPac description. They are supplied under the standard terms and conditions of the IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA) and of the associated License Information and other documentation, and provide a defect correction entitlement for those licensed users entitled to service for IBM MQ family products.

Service is available for this SupportPac for as long as the IBM MQ product with which the SupportPac is to be used is generally supported by IBM. In addition, IBM reserves the right to discontinue service on this SupportPac when it is withdrawn from marketing by IBM.

Category 4 - Third Party Contributions SupportPacs
SupportPacs in this category are provided by third party suppliers (for example: licensed users, IBM Business Partners, and independent software vendors). Whilst these SupportPacs may be downloadable from an IBM site, each SupportPac in this category was made available for this purpose by such a third party provider, and not by IBM. Any specific licensing terms and conditions which apply to the use of such material are included with the relevant SupportPac.
