Abstract

WebSphere Message Broker ODBC Database Extender (IE02).
This SupportPac increases the range of databases supported by WebSphere Message Broker.

This SupportPac increases the range of databases supported by WebSphere Message Broker.

The SupportPac provides binaries for use with WebSphere Message Broker v7.0.0.2 (and above) and also WebSphere Message Broker v8.0. Please ensure that you download and install the appropriate binaries for your specific version .

Note that you can download and install both versions of the SupportPac (for use with WebSphere Message Broker v7.0.0.2 and WebSphere Message Broker v8.0) to the same operating system image if you have both versions of Message Broker installed. These must be installed to different locations.

Please refer to the WebSphere Message Broker documentation for information regarding the databases supported when using this SupportPac.

This package contains the driver manager libraries for unixODBC (available from www.unixodbc.org), an implementation of the Open DataBase Connectivity interface for Unix® systems. These libraries are licensed under the LGPL Open Source Initiative (OSI).

Possible Uses
This SupportPac increases the supported set of databases compatible within Message Broker, for example, introducing support for solidDB. This SupportPac can be used if you require access to the solidDB database from within a message flow.

Prerequisites

WebSphere Message Broker and supported database.

Installation Instructions

The IE02 SupportPac binary is a self contained installer, once you have accepted the license agreement, the installer allows the user to specify the installation directory to install the SupportPac.

The installer can run in one of three modes:

GUI
This is the default mode. The installer presents a graphical installer, allowing the user to navigate through the installation screens.

Console
This can be specified using the parameters: -i console
If a graphical display is not present, this mode will also be used.

Silent
This can be specified using the parameters: -i silent
This will install the SupportPac in silent mode.
