WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition Web Gateway enables files to be transferred to an agent and enables users to check the transfer progress using HTTP. A Java 5 EE Enterprise Application Resource (EAR) file is provided which must be deployed to a compliant application server.
Possible Uses
A Web page is created that allows a user to browse for a file on their local system and submit the file to WMQ File Transfer Edition. The Web page shows the current status of the transfer.
An application running on a mobile device with HTTP connectivity is used to send files to an agent and confirm that the files have been successfully transferred.
A user wants to remotely monitor transfers in a WMQ File Transfer Edition network using a Web page application.
Skill Level Required
Simple HTTP protocol programming in the language of choice.
Administration of a JEE environment.
An understanding of basic WMQ File Transfer Edition concepts and terminology.

Prerequisites
A JEE 5.0 compliant application server. The currently tested environments are WebSphere Application Server Community Edition (CE) 2.1 and WebSphere Application Server 7.0.0.7.
