Abstract

This document provides access to the IBM Information Server Plug-In for WebSphere Integration Developer.

The IBM Information Server plug-in for WebSphere Integration Developer provides integration with IBM Information Server.

The Information Service activity supports the integration of information services in business processes. It enables you to discover and invoke operations on IBM Information Server and offers direct access to relational database management systems through full SQL support.

The Enterprise Service Discovery support for IBM Information Server provides an extension to the Enterprise Service Discovery Wizard to discover and import services from IBM Information Server into a module.

Possible Uses
Scenarios requiring access to Information Server Services or direct access to relational database management systems.

To use this SupportPac, you need to be familiar with WebSphere Integration Developer.

Prerequisites

Installation Instructions

1. To install the WebSphere Integration Developer – Information Server Plug-In download the appropriate file to a temporary location, e.g. C:\Temp. Which file you have to use depends on the used WebSphere Integration Developer and IBM Information Server versions:
1a. WebSphere Integration Developer V6.1.0 & IBM Information Server V8.0 – download the file ba79.zip
1b. WebSphere Integration Developer V6.1.2 & IBM Information Server V8.0 – download the file ba79_6.1.2.zip
1c. WebSphere Integration Developer V6.1.2 & IBM Information Server V8.1 – download the file ba79_6.1.2_IS8.1.zip
1d. WebSphere Integration Developer V6.2 & IBM Information Server V8.1 – download the file ba79_6.2_IS8.1.zip
2. Start Installation Manager.
3. On the Start page of Installation Manager, click File > Preferences, and then click Repositories. The Repositories page opens.
4. On the Repositories page, click Add Repository.
5. In the Add repository dialog box, click Browse and navigate to the zip file you downloaded in step 1, e.g. c:\Temp\ba79.zip. Click OK. The new repository location is listed.
6. Click OK to close the Preference page.
7. On the Start page of Installation Manager, click Install Packages.
8. On the Install page, check IBM Information Server Plug-In for WebSphere Integration Developer. Click Next.
9. On the Licenses page, select "I accept the terms of the license agreement" and click Next.
10. On the Location page, click Next.
11. On the Features page, click Next.
12. On the Summary page, click Install.

Technical Support for the IBM WebSphere Integration Developer SupportPac is supplied under the standard terms and conditions provided by the International Program License Agreement. Please read the IPLA and LI files that accompany the SupportPac, to ensure you understand the conditions under which the SupportPac is provided.

If you encounter what you believe to be a defect with the SupportPac you may request Program Services, by reporting the problem by way of the same defect reporting channel you use for the WebSphere product. This requires an active service agreement for the WebSphere Integration Developer product.

The End of Service date for this SupportPac is the same as the WebSphere Integration Developer v6.2 product.
