MA0V: Asynchronous support in WebSphere MQ transport for SOAP
Downloadable files
Abstract
This SupportPac™ provides support for asynchronous invocation of WebServices over WebSphere® MQ. It also supports transactional handling of messages by the WebServices client.
Download Description
The SupportPac provides temporary interfaces that permit the writing of asynchronous clients. There is support for 'long term' asynchrony, where a request sent in one client session has the response handled in a later session. Though coding details will change as standards evolve, we expect the basic programming pattern to remain the same.
The SupportPac also permits the writing of WebService clients using a traditional messaging 'linked transaction' model; separate transactions for client request, service processing, and client response. This avoids distributed two phase commit between client resources and service resources.
The asynchronous features apply only at the WebServices client side. Service code, listener deployment and listener transactional handling are not affected by these changes at the client. The listener and user service code are not aware whether the client is using synchronous or asynchronous support for any particular service request
POSSIBLE USES
This makes it possible to make fuller use of advanced messaging benefits within a WebServices environment
SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED
Medium program design and programming skills.
