The SupportPac allows data to be extracted from the MQSeries for OS/390 V5.2, V5.3.0 and V5.3.1 log data sets in a format that will allow further processing, such as message replay and also displays information about objects which have been defined or altered.
POSSIBLE USES
This SupportPac provides a program which extracts data from an MQSeries for OS/390 V5.2, V5.3 and V5.3.1 log file and creates various files to allow you to display or process information from the log. Typical usage includes:
» Reviewing which persistent messages were put or got to a queue and whether the request was committed. This allows messages to be replayed. A 'C' program is provided which puts messages to the same queue as they were originally put to. Note that putting messages to system queues can cause problems such as duplicate messages.
» Reviewing persistent messages which were put or got, but the request was backed out.
» Displaying which applications backed out, rather than committed
» Identifying which applications changed MQSeries Objects - for example, disabled queue for puts.
» Identifying the volume of data through queues, specifically the high use queues.
The data is processed in two steps:
1. Processing the data from the active or archive log datasets to create files with the messages or commands
2. Any post processing, such as message reply.

» Users of this SupportPac will require knowledge of MQSeries for OS/390.

Installation Instructions
To install the SupportPac:
» Download mo12.zip to the temporary directory.
» Uncompress using InfoZip's Unzip
» This will create the necessary files and sub-directories. If you use other unzip programs, ensure you specify the option to re-create stored directories.
» You may delete mo12.zip
