Abstract
ME01 includes a piece of Java code that allows a Java program to perform naming and directory service functions through a standard interface (called JNDI).

Download Description
An Initial Context Factory is a piece of Java code that allows a Java program to perform naming and directory service functions through a standard interface (called JNDI) to a particular type of repository. Existing initial context factories allow you to connect to file systems, LDAP servers and many others. This SupportPac allows you to use a WebSphere MQ queue manager as a JNDI repository. It can dynamically generate JMS administrable objects, based on actual queues on the queue manager - potentially saving you having to define any administrable objects for your JMS application to run or create physical queues when a JMS queue is defined. This can be used with the existing JMS Admin tools available and it supports the storage of other serialisable objects in much the same way as other JNDI implementations.

POSSIBLE USES
This code could be used to aid speedy development of a JMS application, without the need to define JMS administrable objects in a separate repository.
It could also be used to enquire of the queue manager what queues are available. Queues can also be created and deleted using standard JNDI calls, so this could be used as the basis for a Java based queue manager management system.

NEW IN THIS RELEASE
• Numerous performance enhancements.
• The ability to lookup queues with the '/' character in their name.
