Downloadable files
Abstract
MA12 provides two sample COBOL programs which can be used as MVS-Batch trigger monitors.
Download Description
This SupportPac provides two sample COBOL programs which can be used as MVS-Batch trigger monitors.
1.CKTIBAT2
This is a sample COBOL MVS batch trigger monitor for MQSeries. The program will wait on a named initiation queue, and for each trigger message placed onto the queue, the program will submit a JCL stream to the JES internal reader. The program accepts an optional queue manager name and the name of the initiation queue.
2.CKTIEND
This program is used in conjunction with CKTIBAT2. Its function is to end CKTIBAT2 by passing it a "quit" message. It sends a message of type REPORT to the initiation queue, with a feedback code of MQFB-QUIT.
Sample JCL to compile/link, execute and stop the programs is provided.
POSSIBLE USES
The supplied programs can be used as-is to provide batch triggering support for MQM/ESA. This program, in combination with the facilities provided by MQM/ESA, allow CICS transactions, IMS transactions and batch JCL streams to be started from a trigger message.
NEW IN THIS RELEASE
