Version 8.1 Critical Patch for InfoSphere Information Server

Abstract
IBM has released the Version 8.1 Critical Patch for Information Server. This patch is highly recommended for all Information Server Version 8.1 installations.
 
Content

The Version 8.1 Critical Patch greatly simplifies the installation of Information Analyzer Version 8.1.1, Fastrack Version 8.1.1, Metadata Workbench Version 8.1.1 and Business Glossary Version 8.1.1 by satisfying a number of prerequisites that were previously installed individually.

Version 8.1 Critical Patch also provides the following benefits:

  • Improved performance during design-time activities for InfoSphere Information Server clients, especially in multi-user environments.

  • Specific changes to the InfoSphere DataStage Designer client to reduce the time for repository-intensive operations, such as saving and copying large jobs.

  • Improved detection and termination of unresponsive client sessions.

  • Scalability improvements to the InfoSphere Information Analyzer reporting console.
