Abstract

This page describes the minimum system requirements for the hardware and software that is required to operate DB2 Content Manager for z/OS V8.4.2.

If you install some of the DB2 Content Manager components on distributed operating systems, see the Related information link at the bottom of this document for the DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition Version 8.4.2 requirements.

Required hardware

Processors and real storage: DB2 Content Manager for z/OS V8.4.2 operates on any processor that supports z/Architecture, including zSeries z800, z890, z900, z990, IBM System z9, or a comparable processor. The processor must have enough real storage to satisfy the combined requirements of:

DB2 Universal Database Server
HTTP server
z/OS
Other customer-required applications

DASD: The program directories provide the direct access storage device (DASD) requirements to install DB2 Content Manager for z/OS V8.4.2. The actual DASD requirement that is needed for DB2 Content Manager to maintain customer data in DB2 databases depends on each customer's specific application requirement.

Long term storage (select one or both)	Tivoli Storage Manager Server Version 5.4 or 5.5 and Tivoli Storage Manager API Client on z/OS Version 5.4.2.0 or 5.5					The minimum supported level for Tivoli Storage Manager API Client on z/OS is Version 5.4.2.0. For 2000 MB support for objects stored in OAM, you need z/OS Version 1.10, OAM PTF UA43927, and DB2 Content Manager PTF UK42118.

* Cryptographic Services must be installed but does not have to be enabled. Enable the Cryptographic Services if you use user-defined ACLs.

Configuring text search for your z/OS environment	DB2 Accessories Suite for z/OS V1.3.0					OmniFind Text Search Server for DB2 for z/OS is a component of DB2 Accessories Suite for z/OS. The software requirement is one of the following: 32-bit Red Hat^® Enterprise Linux^®, Version 5 with the latest update 32-bit SUSE^® Linux Enterprise 10 32-bit Windows Server^® 2003 with the latest service pack
Configuring text search for your z/OS environment	DB2 9 for z/OS in New Function Mode					For text search support, you need two DB2 9 PTFs (UK43841 and UK45546).
Using the System Administration client to set the trace level for online jobs	System Administration Client must be at Version 8.4.2
	DB2 Information Integrator for Content must be at Version 8.4.2
	Resource manager on z/OS must be at Version 8.4.2
