Error description

• The FILSZ parameter which is used by the SORT program is limited
  to 8 digits which may not be enough to code the number of
  records to be sorted or merged.

  Use of External Sort in CICS PA terminates with error 'CPA01212E
  SORT Error - bad Return Code from SORT' when the number of
  records to be sorted exceeds 99,999,999.
  This error is due to CICS PA Sort FILSZ parameter being limited
  to 8 digits, therefore when the number of records to be sorted
  exceeda this value, the routine rejects the sort request.
  

Problem conclusion

• The CICS PA Sort FILSZ parameter has been increased to 15 digits
  to overcome previous limitations.
