Error description
Support to allow users to extract statistics from an SMF file directly into a CSV file. This enhancement will allow users to extract CICS TS, CICS Server and CICS TG statistics from an SMF file directly into a CSV file, rather than having to first load the data into an HDB and then perform the extract from the HDB.

This APAR introduces support for extraction of Statistics data directly from SMF file into delimited text file using a new Report Set report. Prior to this APAR, the only means of extracting Statistics data was by loading it into a Statistics HDB and then extracting the data from the HDB. 2. CICS Transaction Server statistics for WebSphere MQ Connections has renamed field "Callback routine invocations" to "Messages Consumed". This APAR replaces the old name with the new in all Statistics functions. 3. In addition, this APAR corrects the following issues: a. Intermittent ABEND0C4 in CPAHDRPT +3A4B2 when Statistics Alert report does not generate any alerts. b. ListX command LIMIT operand generated incorrectly for clock fields resulting in the LIMIT operand being ignored and all transactions reported. c. HDB Template Selection Criteria overrides HDB Selection Criteria resulting in only Template Selection Criteria being applied during HDB Load. d. Statistics HDB Extract ABEND0C4 in module UNKNOWN when PARM='UPPER' is specified. Summary of Changes 1. Report Sets Extract category has been enhanced to include a new extract of statistics data directly from SMF files. This new function allows the extraction of statistics data to delimited text files for purpose of importing the Statistics class data into PC spreadsheet or database tools for further detailed analysis and reporting. When transferred to a workstation file the exported statistics class data is available to PC applications such as Lotus 1-2-3. As part of this change the Report Set Extract Export has been renamed to Extract Performance. 2. Statistics for WebSphere MQ Connections field "Callback routine invocations" has been renamed to "Messages Consumed" to conform with CICS Transaction Server change. 3. The following issues have been corrected: a. Statistics Alert report no longer abends when no alerts are generated. b. ListX command LIMIT operand is now generated correctly. c. HDB Template Selection Criteria no longer overrides HDB Selection Criteria thus only required records are loaded into the HDB. d. Statistics HDB Extract no longer abends when PARM='UPPER' is specified.
Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
Comments
Support is introduced for extraction of Statistics data directly from SMF file into delimited text file using a new Report Set report. The field name "Callback routine invocations" has been renamed to "Messages Consumed" in all Statistics functions because CICS TS statistics for WebSphere MQ Connections has renamed those fields. Also, a number of issues are corrected as described above.
