Exporting a Historical Data Base to DB2

Abstract
You are running CICS Performance Analyzer (CICS PA) V1.4 and want to know how to export a Historical Data Base (HDB) to a DB2 table.
 
Content
CICS PA V1.4 released a PTF for APAR PK14621 which discusses the steps necessary to perform an HDB export to a DB2 table:
  1. Load the HDB
  2. Identify the HDB Containers created by the load
  3. Select the desired HDB Containers to export to DB2

Note: There is not an option to export the HDB from the Report Set HDB
Load function.


You can refer to SupportPac CP12 to accompany the APAR. It contains a document which shows you how to use CICS PA to obtain CICS statistics or performance data into a DB2 table or CSV file. It then presents example scenarios for using that data to create reports and charts.
