|IMPORTANT: IBM Policy on automatic software updates|
|CICS Explorer V5.3 can be installed, updated and extended from the software repository for Installation Manager and update site for Eclipse. You can use this repository, or update site, with any compatible Installation Manager (IM) or Eclipse-based product to add CICS Explorer, for example, into that environment.
Note that this web link differs from that used for CICS Explorer V5.2. IBM's current policy for tooling provided on this download site is to perform automatic updates to the latest version of compatible tooling, where requested. IBM intends to update CICS Explorer at set intervals throughout the year. Updates will typically roll up service fixes and may address additional usability and functional issues.

This can lead to errors during extraction where the path length might exceed that permitted by the target operating system. If in doubt, extract CICS Explorer to a root directory or similar, such as C:\ or C:\CICS_Explorer. Furthermore, unzipping CICS Explorer on Microsoft Windows platforms might result in a request for a password. If this occurs, the unzip process might not complete successfully. |CICS Tools plug-ins for CICS Explorer - Installation Instructions and What's New for V5.3|
|For CICS Explorer V5.3, the following CICS Tools plug-ins have been updated for use with this latest release. To install the plug-ins, click on "Download Eclipse Tools" under "Eclipse Tools for Mainframe Development" on the Mainframe Developer Center and follow the installation instructions. Note that the plug-ins can no longer be downloaded directly from this page.

To get the full benefit from CICS Explorer, CICS Transaction Server for z/OS version 4 or later is required.

Each IBM CICS Explorer deliverable available for download from this page (the "CICS Explorer Program") is available at no charge to all licensed users of the IBM Program(s) specified in the Limited Use Program clause of the accompanying IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA) (the "Parent Program"). The CICS Explorer Program is supplied under the standard terms and conditions of the IPLA and of the associated License Information and other documentation, and provides a defect correction entitlement for those licensed users entitled to service for the Parent Program. Service is available for the CICS Explorer Program for as long as the Parent Program with which the CICS Explorer Program is to be used is generally supported by IBM. In addition, IBM reserves the right to discontinue service on the CICS Explorer Program when it is withdrawn from marketing by IBM.
