Abstract

From this page you can find out how to download and install the latest releases of IBM CICS Explorer and the CICS Tools plug-ins.

Download Description

If you want to download CICS Explorer in conjunction with other plug-ins, which run on top of IBM Explorer for z/OS (z/OS Explorer), refer to the Mainframe Developer Center for general information and Install Eclipse Tools for update and installation details.
 

IMPORTANT: IBM Policy on automatic software updates

CICS Explorer for Aqua 3.2 and Aqua 3.3 (where Aqua means IBM Explorer for z/OS Aqua*) can be installed, updated and extended from the following software repositories:
Aqua 3.2:
http://public.dhe.ibm.com/ibmdl/export/pub/software/htp/zos/tools/aqua3.2/
Aqua 3.3:
http://public.dhe.ibm.com/ibmdl/export/pub/software/htp/zos/tools/aqua3.3/

You can use these repositories, or update sites, with any compatible Installation Manager (IM) or Eclipse-based product to add CICS Explorer, for example, into that environment.

IBM intends to update CICS Explorer at set intervals throughout the year. Updates will typically roll up service fixes and may address additional usability and functional issues.

Two methods of installation are available:
IBM Installation Manager (IM)
Eclipse p2 Update

For CICS Explorer, the following additonal installation methods are also available:
Installing a stand-alone CICS Explorer using a compressed download file
Install CICS Explorer from Eclipse Marketplace

Visit Install Eclipse Tools to select the one that is right for you.  For further details on installing CICS Explorer from Eclipse Marketplace, see Downloading and starting CICS Explorer.

Instructions to add the IBM CICS SDK for Java EE and Liberty to your CICS Explorer
  1. In CICS Explorer, go to Help > Install New Software
  2. Expand IBM CICS Explorer and select IBM CICS SDK for Java EE and Liberty

CICS Tools plug-ins for CICS Explorer
To install the CICS Tools plug-ins, click on Downloads > Eclipse Tools from the Mainframe Developer Center and follow the installation instructions.

Prerequisites

To get the full benefit from CICS Explorer, CICS Transaction Server for z/OS 5.4 or later is required.  Some features are available only on newer releases of CICS Transaction Server for z/OS or they require server enablement.  See What's new in CICS Explorer for Aqua 3.2 and What's new in CICS Explorer for Aqua 3.3 for further details.

Each IBM CICS Explorer deliverable available for download from this page (the "CICS Explorer Program") is available at no charge to all licensed users of the IBM Program(s) specified in the Limited Use Program clause of the accompanying IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA) (the "Parent Program"). The CICS Explorer Program is supplied under the standard terms and conditions of the IPLA and of the associated License Information and other documentation, and provides a defect correction entitlement for those licensed users entitled to service for the Parent Program. Service is available for the CICS Explorer Program for as long as the Parent Program with which the CICS Explorer Program is to be used is generally supported by IBM. In addition, IBM reserves the right to discontinue service on the CICS Explorer Program when it is withdrawn from marketing by IBM.
