SupportPac CA73 allows .NET applications to invoke programs in CICS using the CICS Transaction Gateway (CICS TG) V7.2 External Call Interface (ECI) V2 API. V1.1 is now available.
Download Description
SupportPac CA73 builds on the new ECI V2 capability of CICS TG V7.2 by providing an interface that allows .NET applications to access CICS servers using the ECI API.
The SupportPac contains a mixed mode DLL assembly that exposes the functions of the ECI V2 C language API in a form that will be familiar to developers working in C# or VB.NET. This API allows .NET applications to invoke COMMAREA-based programs in CICS using the facilities of a remote CICS TG.
The SupportPac includes sample ECI applications written in C# and VB.NET and documentation for using the API.
What's new in release 1.1
The dynamic link library IBM.CTG.Client.dll is now strong-name signed, and can be installed into the Global Assembly Cache (GAC).
Possible Uses
Connecting to CICS from .NET applications.
Skill level required
Experience of developing C# or Microsoft Visual Basic .NET applications.
