Error description

  • You are running CICS/TS for z/VSE R111 and may encounter:

DFHAP0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset
    X'00001DAA' in module DFHICP.

It will produce an AP0001 dump. It will be followed by:

DFHXM0310 A severe error (code X'1308') has occurred while
terminating task number nnnn with transaction identifier xxxx.
If the task had a principal facility, it has been released.
    The task is suspended indefinitely.

    Followed by an XM0310 dump.

    CICS cannot be terminated normally.

This only happens after you applied APAR PM81883 (PTF UK93969).

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
After applying PM81883 there is a small possibility of S0C4
abends in DFHICP due to a non-zero IC token being set after a
RETRIEVE is done. Instead of setting zeros, the first 4 bytes
at location 0 in storage is used. In most z/VSE systems this
contains a value of zero, but that may not always be true.

As the abend occurs when DFHICXM calls DFHICP, the task is
placed into a FOREVER wait with an XM0310 dump, it will not
terminate and CICS will not shut down normally.

Problem conclusion

  • UK93969

DFHICP has been changed to always set a zero token value.
